TCP Tuesday Happy Spring!!

Hello and welcome again.  This week's TCP Tuesday challenge is all about clouds.  Since the calender says it's springtime (although in California it still feels like early summer), I decided to make a spring card using the TCP cloud border and go a bit outside the box by making the clouds into bushes!!  So once I got done cutting my border in two different colors of green scraps of card stock, I pulled out my Spring Fling stamp set and got to work.

After stamping all the images I wanted to use in memento tuxedo black onto some white card stock, I started coloring them using both prismacolor markers and koh-i-noor pencils blending the pencils with an alcohol blender as needed along the way.  I'm starting to love this new technique after learning about it in one of the MIX-ability challenges on SCS even though I'm not much of a mixed media person - at least I don't think I am.  Once all of the coloring was finished, I then created my own little "road" for the carrot car Poochie is in to drive on to pick up Miss Sprinkle before adding some Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink around the edges for the sky then layering onto some Making Memories English Garden designer paper I've had in my stash for ages.  Adding the "bush" clouds using various sizes of dimensionals and pop dots gives the card some extra dimension as well as drawing in my own little birdies flying in the sky.  I then punched some butterflies from scraps using a Martha Stewart butterfly punch, added ribbon and ice stickles all over the card to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great week!!!

What's Mew Bingo?

Hello and welcome!  Today I am sharing a card I made for this week's TCP Tuesday challenge.  I decided to make the card for my hubby whose recovering from total hip surgery and loves getting happy mail himself since he's home bound.

I used some some Kaiser Craft Chapter One designer paper gifted me by my awesome friend KelliJo.  After stamping my images in memento tuxedo black ink and coloring with prismacolor markers, I stippled some tim holtz distress inks around and over the images to help "age" things a bit.  Even though the card is for a man, I also added some ribbon and flowers to help finish things off.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.
