Joy To The World

Hello and welcome.  I'm playing along with a few challenges this Christmas week, so I thought I would bust out a retired clear set I've never used (NBUS) from The Cat's Pajamas called Joy To The World.

Onefer

For my first project, I stamped the singing penguins, and musical notes, in memento tuxedo black ink and then colored using prismacolor and copic markers before highlighting one of the hats with a white 3D glaze pen.  I then stamped the saying also in memento black before highlighting using glitter gel pens.  I then took a Picket Fence Studio Slimline Cloud Stencil and added the background clouds using Picket Fence Blending Brushes and Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink.  After layering, and adding brads, I added the panel to a card made pacific pointe card stock and scrap gingham designer paper.  I then took a black artist pen and added the faux sewing, snow using a white 3D glaze pen, and some Gin and Tonic sequins using Ranger Glossy Accents.  The final touches were waterfall ice stickles (for snow/ice) and white/silver ribbon.

Since I had the Joy set still sitting out on my desk, I decided to stamp the penguins, and musical notes, onto some scrap white Neenah card stock then colored using the same prismacolor/copic markers.  I then dusted off my snowflake corner punch and punched the top corners before creating my clouds background using the Picket Fence Slimline Cloud Stencil and blending brushes along with Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink to create my cloud background.  I then stippled broken china around the edges before layering then punching that with my Stampin Up scalloped tag punch.  After adding some "snowflakes" using a white 3D glaze pen, I added the punched snowflake bits (after stippling broken china on them) by adhering using Ranger glossy accents.  The final touches were waterfall ice stickles for the "ice" and ribbon to finish my tag off.

I'm please with how both of these turned out especially since I'm dealing with another migraine and it was either cry or try and focus on something else.  Also, my lung issues are flaring back up again I'm afraid.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a a great day and a safe Merry Christmas!

 Challenge 2148 - Team A, Nov. 29

THEME = Animals (no birds or fish)

The prize will be a $10 Gift Certificate from
Sweet 'n Sassy

Hello and welcome.  It's time for a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  This week we are being sponsored by Pammie's Inky Pinkies with the prize being a $10 gift certificate from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  Since this is the 5th Monday of the month, it is time for a theme challenge and this week we are going with animals (except birds or fish).  Now I know we all have quite a few animal stamps in our collections, so let's dust those off and get inky.

For my card I dusted of a long retired Stampin Up set, called Wolf, and stamped my card repeatedly in basic gray ink to create the background.  My main image was stamped using Colorbox charcoal chalk ink onto a vanilla panel.  I really like using my chalk inks on solid stamps since, I feel, I get better ink coverage.  After stippling some going gray ink around the edges, then layering, I added some black brads before adding it to my card.  My saying is from a retired MFP Stamp Shop (now closed) set was stamped in going grey twice onto vanilla scraps before punching both out.  After adding to a punched black oval scrap, I popped up the second saying oval for some added dimension.

Heartfelt Thanks, Before/After Turkey

Hello and welcome.  Today I'm playing along with a couple of challenges over at Splitcoaststampers among others.  My first card uses both some old and a new stamp (NBUS) sets.  I started out by stamping the lighthouse scene and boats (Mark's Finest Papers now closed) in memento tuxedo black ink and colored using prismacolor watercolor pencils with a blender marker.  I then used a Picket Fence Studios slimline cloud stencil, along with their blending brushes to create the background clouds.  After stamping the saying from a Hero Arts set I received as a gift, I was ready to assemble the card adhering it using some faux brads.  The final touches were waterfall ice stickles and a Sakura 3D glaze pen for the birds.

My second card uses an old, old, old Hanna Stamps (now closed) Thanksgiving set I've had for years and never used.  Why? I have no idea. For this one, I decided to go with a bit of snarky humor.  After stamping the turkey (live and cooked) in memento black, I colored them with Castle Art pencils before stippling some more mustard around the colored panel.  Once that was finished, and layered, I added some brads and faux sewing before laying aside to work on my card.  The card base has three different Thanksgiving images stamped in more mustard to make the background.  After adding my layered panel, I color spritzed a SU close to cocoa marker over the entire card before adding some tan fibers and googlie eyes to finish it off.

The Early Bird

Hello and welcome. First, I'd like to apologize for not posting in a while.  I've been dealing with some health issues on top of my migraines.

Today I'd like to share a card I made using an old Garfield stamp (Rubber Stampede) and this hilarious saying from Art Impressions and a long retired Stampin Up set Espress Yourself.

I started out by stamping Garfield and my saying onto some scrap white card stock in memento tuxedo black ink before coloring Castle Art pencils using the Art Nudge #4 to guide my color combo.  Once my coloring was finished, I lightly stippled some dusty durango ink around the image panel using my Picket Fence Studio Blending Brushes before layering and adding some brads.  I then took a black artist pen and added some faux sewing around the edges.  The card is stamped using the coffee cup border from Espress Yourself in dusty durango ink.  I then stamped the coffee beans also in dusty durango ink and layered onto a gray card stock scrap before adding my layered image panel popping it up using dimensionals.  I then finished the card off using some copper cord from my stash.

 Challenge 2142 - Team A, Oct. 18

Hello and welcome.  It's time for new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  This week we are sponsored by  Newton's Nook Stamps and I would like to thank them for sponsoring this week's challenge.  My card this week features the adorable All Aboard For Christmas and the matching dies found here

After dealing with mine and my husband's health issues, I'm finally getting some stamping done again even if it's really slow going.  Since I work on Christmas cards year round, I have been itching to get this set out and see what I could do with it (NBUS).

I started out by stamping the engine and cars onto a scrap piece of slimline card stock before stamping all of my animals and train gears onto scrap white card stock then colored everything using Castle Art pencils.  Once all of my coloring was finished, I added the clouds using a slimline stencil and Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink and the ground using Tim Holtz mowed lawn, brushed corduroy, and tea stain distress inks before lightly adding some picket fence distress ink as "early snowfall".  A black artist pen created the "train track".  I then die cut all of the animals and gears using my big shot before adding them to the card using pop dots and dimensionals.  After layering the main image panel onto scrap slimline card stock, I added the final touches of snowflake sequins and a recycled red ribbon.  A Sakura 3D glaze pen highlights parts of all the images.  I'm really happy with how it turned out since I'm still feeling a bit crummy.

Scattering Seeds of Kindness

Hello and welcome.  Sorry it's been a bit since I've posted.  I've been dealing with my husbands health issues on top of my own health problems.  Still feeling crummy but I managed to get this card done that I started two weeks ago.  Right now it's slow going with me completing any task.

I dusted off this old Stampin Up set called Seeds of Kindness and paired it with Art Nudge #25 plus this week's Inspiration Station #15 to create a bit of a fall feel using a summer set since we're still getting dandelions here in California.  I stamped the main images using Tim Holtz scattered straw, forest moss, spiced marmalade and old paper distress inks making sure to stamp off the images to help fill in the background.  The saying was stamped in memento tuxedo black before layering and adding some black brads.  I then added the panel to a so saffron card before stippling scattered straw around the edges.  As an afterthought, I grabbed a black artist pen and added the faux sewing.  I'm very happy with how this turned out.  You can catch all of the Art Nudges here.

Hello and welcome to another Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  This week we are being sponsored by  Sheepski Designs.  I would like to thank them for their sponsorship and for providing the design team images to showcase.  I'm using the new to me, but retired, Hanging Around image.

After printing the new to me image off onto Neenah white card stock, I colored it using Castle Art Pencils before stippling Tim Holtz stormy sky around it then layered.  My card is dry embossed using a birds/swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder with my big shot before stippling walnut stain around the edges of the card.  After adding some brads to the layered image and copper cord, I then added it to my card with some paper sunflowers finishing everything off.

Jesus The Reason For The Season

Hello and welcome.  Today starts a new Anything Goes challenge over at Bugaboo's blog Catch The Bug.  You know what?  Our Saturday challenges are now ALL Anything Goes and is a month long challenge now.  So there's no excuse for not entering....right?  Since I'm still dealing with this blasted migraine I've had for a couple months now, I decided to take a tag I had made a few months back using the Christmas Words - Jesus image and finally turn it into a card and what theme could be better than the true reason for the Christmas season. The birth of Jesus - God's only Son.

The image is printed onto Neenah white card stock and colored using prismacolor markers with Tim Holtz chipped sapphire  distress ink stippled around the edges.  The card is made using a navy card that is dry embossed using a Sizzix plaid embossing folder I've had for years and never used (NBUS) yet and my big shot.  The ribbon is a scrap and is adhered using Making Memories staples.  The star is highlighted using gold ice stickles.

Let's Go To The Beach!

Hello and welcome to another Bugaboo freebie friday.  This week's freebie takes us to the beach, sand between our toes and a whole lot cooler weather than what most of the West has been experiencing.

After printing my image off onto Neenah white card stock, I colored it using prismacolor and copic markers before stamping my "sand", adding some puffy clouds and then the background water.  Once she was layered using scrap card stock, I added brads and then adhered the image panel to a dry embossed card using my big shot and a cuttlebug shell collage embossing folder.  The saying was stamped onto scrap white card stock before punching it, and the corresponding layer, out using my Stampin Up oval punches.  I then added a crab and sea anemone, also punched from scraps.  The only other embellishments were some gold cord ribbon, ice stickles to highlight the water and a gold sand dollar I bought at a stamp convention over a decade ago and never used.

Well Shiver Me Timbers!!

Hello and welcome.  It's time for another Friday Freebie from Bugaboo stamps and you can grab this week's freebie over at Catch The Bug.  I love this cute little pirate monkey!

After printing him onto Neenah white card stock, I colored it using Castle Art pencils.  Once that was done, I created the cloud background using a Picket Fence Studio Slimline Cloud Stencil using Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink as well as blender brushes before stippling the sand with Adirondack caramel ink.  I then layered the image and added some small silver brads then added it to my card.  The card base was created using white card stock with some dusty embossed DCWV All About Boys designer paper with stormy sky distress ink stippled around the edges.  I then added some faux sewing to the card and image panel using a black artist pen.  I admit I sometimes do things backwards. *shrugs* Oh well, it worked this time.  The only other embellishments were two silver dew drops and a pirate sword charm I've had in  my stash for years, and I mean years!  I'm really happy with how this turned out since I'm still dealing with these blasted migraines.

June 14

https://www.janmahew.com/

Hello and welcome.  This week's Pammie's Inky Pinkies challenge is being sponsored by  Jan's Digi Stamps.  I would like to thank them for providing all of the images the design team is using.

After printing the image onto Neenah white card stock, I colored it using Castle Art Pencils since I'm still dealing with the same migraine I've had for a few weeks now.  Once it was colored, I stippled Tim Holtz concord grape distress ink around it before layering and adding brads.  The card base is made using Stampin Up card stock and the dry embossed panel was made using a Sizzix swirl embossing folder and my big shot.  I then sanded the raised pattern before lightly stippling forest moss distress ink over it.  The border was made by taking some scrap designer paper and stamping it in concord grape distress ink using a long retired Stampin Up set called Beyond The Basics.  After adding my layered image, I decided to lightly stippled milled lavender and old paper distress inks over the main image to "age" it a bit.  The saying was then stamped in memento tuxedo black ink with another long retired Stampin Up set called Tiny Talk.  I then added grape organdy ribbon and a wine glass charm to finish the card off.

Celebrating You With Wine

Hello and welcome.  Today is another Freebie Friday over at Catch The Bug and this week's freebie happens to be a fun Chef Pierre image.

Once I had my (NBUS) image printed onto Neenah white card stock, I colored it with Castle Art pencils before sponging some rich razzelberry ink around the edges then layered and added gold brads.  For the card, I added a green felt grape vine border ribbon I bought on a whim over a decade ago and never used (NBUS). I then added my layered image popping it up over the felt border.  I then stamped the saying, from a long retired Stampin Up set, in memento black before adding a matching satin ribbon with a wine glass charm I've had for years and never used.

Hello and welcome to another Pammie's Inky Pinkies challenge.  This week we are sponsored by StarStampz.  I would like to thank them for the images they provided the design team.  For my project today, I am using the image Goldfish Fishing.

I started out by printing the image onto Neenah white card stock then colored it using Castle Art pencils before stippling Tim Holtz tumbled glass/mowed lawn ink around the edges then layered and adding purple brads.  For the card, I started out by stamping a retired Stampin Up background Hearts and Swirls in Altnew Deep Iris ink before dry embossing a scrap strip of lavender card stock.  Once both of those were done, I assembled my card base then added the layered image panel.  I then stamped my saying in memento tuxedo black ink from a long retired Stampin Up set called Mixed Greetings.  After adding some silk flowers with a matching purple brad center, my card was finished.

Grapevines and Hugs

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a couple of different cards inspired by two challenges over on Splitcoaststampers.

First up is a card inspired by Marvin Gaye's song I Heard It Through The Grapevine.  When I first saw the challenge last Friday, I knew what song I wanted to go by and had to look ALL weekend for the stamp set I wanted.  So all weekend, this song was going through my head and it's still there.

I started out by stamping the vine from Stampin Up's retired Grapes set in garden green ink onto Neenah white card stock before pulling out some memento grape jelly to stamp the grapes in.  My saying was stamped in memento tuxedo black from the retired Friend To Friend set.  I then lightly stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink over the remaining white areas before layering and adding brads.  The only other embellishment added was a purple organdy ribbon.

My second card uses the retired Hearts And Flowers For You from Impression Obsession.   I started out by stamping the jar in memento summer sky ink onto scrap white card stock before stamping the flowers and leaves in various memento inks.  I then stamped the saying and tag in memento black before layering.  I had stamped the tag onto another piece of scrap card stock to color before deciding against it.  I'm much happier with it without the coloring.  The only embellishment added was some gold cord ribbon.

Just BEE-cause

Hello and welcome.  Today is another Friday Freebie over at Catch The Bug and I'm pairing this cute never before used little bee up with a couple retired Stampin Up sets.

After printing the image off onto Neenah white card stock, I colored it using prismacolor markers before stamping the "grass" it's walking on using Watercolor Minis (retired) then stippling Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink around the edges.  Once I layered the image, I added some black brads and matching bee ribbon I've had for years.  My saying was stamped onto a scrap of summer sun card stock then punched out using a Stampin Up oval punch.  I then highlighted parts of the bee using a black 3D glaze pen and diamond ice stickles for the wings.  I then added some punched ferns/flowers with ice stickles centers using Ranger Glossy Accents.
