Hello Zoo Buddies

Second post for me today.  For my Sassy Studio post, please scroll down one.  Today I have a cute little guy card I put together using Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company newest set called Zoo Friends.

The images are stamped in memento tuxedo black onto white card stock then colored using prismacolor markers with tumbled glass distress ink stippled for the sky and Adirondack lettuce ink for the grass.  After layering the main image, I adhered everything onto a mahogany card with Die Cuts With A View Animal Crackers designer paper before adding a cut out giraffe, faux brads, twill tape, and a punched out oval saying.

Challenges entered:

Pink Ribbons For Mom

Hello and welcome.  This is a hard post to write.  Today I am sharing a card I made for my mom using Sassy Studio Designs Support A Cause digital image and Think Pink sentiments from last years October Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

After downloading and coloring my image, I layered the image and sentiments using pixie pink card stock before dry embossing a light pink panel then adding a scrap border left over from punching a couple of light mauve borders.  The only embellishments I added were some faux brads, a punched pink ribbon, and a pink marker spritzed over the main image.

Challenges entered:

Sassy Studio - DTBST #174
Link Up For Pink #9
PCP Cuttlebug Challenge #161
Love To Create Challenge #63 - Punches or Dies

Now the reason this post is hard to write, my mom lost her battle with breast cancer 19 years ago next month on May 19th.  She was only 41 - way to young to go.  So I have decided to make cards to help support and encourage others fighting cancer in memory of my mom.  Mom, I hope you like it.  I will be putting this one aside to mail off the MD Anderson Cancer Center during the yearly SCS card drive.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Stamps: SSD Support A Cause Digi, Think Pink Sentiments
Card Stock: White, Pixie Pink, Pretty In Pink, Mauve Scrap

Lavender Vase

Hello and welcome to another week.  Today I am sharing a clean and simple (CAS) card I made for this week's Addicted To CAS #11 - Flowers challenge using a retired Stampin Up! set that needed to see some ink.

I stamped the vase from Vases in Vogue in memento tuxedo black once onto a smaller card as well onto a piece of scrap card stock before stamping the lavender flowers.  Once all the images were stamped, I pulled out my koh-i-noor pencils and blender marker then got to coloring before cutting out the extra vase to adhere over the lavender stems.  After the card was finished, I stamped and colored a matching envelope.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Peaceful Fan

Hello.  Today I am sharing a card I made for this month's Paper Crafts Connection Gallery challenge.  Since the challenge was all about spring pastels, I decided to pull out my Asian Delights stamp set by Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company.

After stamping the cherry blossom images in memento tuxedo black ink onto a Stampendous pre-folded fan card, I pulled out my koh-i-noor pencils and blender marker to do the coloring then stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink to help fill in the white spots.  Once all of the coloring was finished, I added the layered Peace saying and temple image before adding some punched greenery with a prima flower center before threading a pink grossgrain ribbon through the center of the fan.  I would also like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Woodland Hello

Second post for me today.  If you're looking for my Color Throwdown post, please scroll down one.  Thanks.

Nothing like squeaking in at the last minute thanks to migraines, but I'm making it.  This week's Love To Create #61 challenge is for the guys, so I pulled out my News From The Woods stamp set by Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company and got to work.  After stamping the birch trees in memento black onto vanilla card stock, I then stamped the peeking bear and owl images twice so one set could be popped up for added dimension before coloring with koh-i-noor pencils and a blender marker.  Then I added some scrap designer paper from my stash to the card, layered the birch trees and added my popped up peeking images.  The final touch was stamping the saying onto a punched stippled vanilla oval layered onto a die cut panel I had received as a gift (thanks Janis).  I'll also be submitting this card for the Pause Dream Enjoy Friendship challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great weekend

Be A Showoff!

Hello and welcome.  I hope you enjoyed this last week's new release blog hop by Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company.  If you haven't had a chance to take a look at some of the new stamp releases, you can find them in the store here.

Today I am sharing a card I made for this week's Color Throwdown #238 challenge.  I started out by stamping my background using the peacock feather from Be A Showoff in brilliant blue directly onto the card before stamping my peacock in memento black onto white card stock then coloring with prismacolor markers.  Since I was still dealing with a migraine, I decided to keep the card fairly simple and just lightly stipple brilliant blue around the main image and saying, layer then add some faux brads.  My only embellishments are some $1 store blue organdy ribbon and ice stickles highlighting the peacocks feathers.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great weekend.

I hope you have enjoyed this week's blog hop so far.  My project today showcases today's featured set paired up with Scenic Selections and some My Minds Eye Quite Contrary designer paper.

After stamping my images onto white card stock then coloring with prismacolor markers, I took the small grass stamp from Scenic Selections and stamped it repeatedly in green galore ink around my trees before stippling the same ink over it to help fill in any white areas.  Then I stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink around the top half of the card to help fill in the sky before adding some birds in memento black then layering.  My only embellishments are some faux green galore brads and red ice stickles highlighting the berries in the trees before popping the whole panel up over a stamped border.

Today's featured set, Honor and Glory, also has a lot of different uses for it besides kids cards.  For my project today, I chose to match it up with some Die Cuts With A View Timeless Type designer paper and go for a vintage, or Old English feel to them.  Hopefully, I accomplished it.

After stamping all of the images in memento tuxedo black ink and coloring with prismacolor markers, for the castle card, I pulled out some stipple brushes and Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink to stipple around the top edges for the sky then Stampin Up! garden green for the grass around the castle.  Once all of my stippling was finished, I layered the image onto going grey and basic grey card stock before popping up over a stamped border on my 3x3 card.

For the second card, I chose to highlight the dragon and shield against a 3x3 piece of the Timeless Type designer paper.  Again both sets of images were stamped in memento black, colored, then going grey ink was sponged around the shield before layering and adding faux brads.  Once I had the larger dragon image cut out, both were adhered over a stamped going grey border before adding a small silver sticker bow.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day and don't forget to stop by the rest of the design team blogs to leave some love for a chance to win today's featured set.

Today's featured set is another one of my favorites from this month.  Maybe it's because I love coloring peacocks, or because I love making colorful birds, who knows.  All I know, is I'm having a blast creating with this set and you will too.

For my project today, I took the main peacock image from Be A Showoff and stamped it in memento tuxedo black ink onto MFP white card stock before coloring it with prismacolor makers then combining the image with some retired Stampin Up! card stock and Michael's Recollections Animal Print designer paper.  For my embellishments, I stamped the large peacock feather directly onto three of the silk flowers in purple twilight and citrus inks before layering with white silk flowers and bling centers.  My final touches were faux brads and ice stickles highlighting parts of the peacocks tail feathers and crown.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day and don't forget to stop by the rest of the design team blogs to leave some love for a chance to win today's featured set.

Let me start off by saying - I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS SET since there are so many possibilities for it.  Today I am going to share with you a blog hop staple for me -CAS (clean and simple) home decor.

I started out by stamping all my images and saying from Columns and Topiaries in memento tuxedo black ink onto white card stock before coloring with prismacolor markers.  Then I pulled out Scenic Selections and stamped the grass in forest moss before adding some birds in memento black then stippling tumbled glass over and around entire image.  Finally, I pulled out one of my $1 store frames and added the stamped panel for a quick and easy home decor project that took only 20 minutes to make, even with a migraine. ;)

Hello.  Today I am sharing a card made with the new soon to be released free mini from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company called Take A Bow.  With the April new stamp release, if you buy four of the newly released stamps, you will receive the mini for free.  This new mini is great for birthdays, young and old,  just because, and scrap booking pages.

My card uses the crown image from the set stamped in memento black ink before being colored using prismacolor marker then layering onto scrap card stock and designer papers.  I also made sure this smaller card would fit into one of the smaller #10 sized mailing envelopes that I have laying around the house for mailing those pesky bills.  All of the new stamp sets will be available for purchase starting tomorrow here.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Amish Farm

This month's Craft A Scene challenge is called Down On The Farm.  I've had this card finished for a few days, just was unable to post thanks to my migraines again.

For my card, I pulled out a couple of my favorite sets by Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company called A Trip To Lancaster and Scenic Selections then got to work.  After stamping all of my images in memento tuxedo black onto Stampin Up! vanilla card stock, I pulled out my koh-i-noor pencils with blender marker to do the coloring.  Once all of my coloring was finished, I added some additional grass from Scenic Selections stamped in Tim Holtz forest moss distress ink making sure some of the images overlapped each other for added dimension.  Then I pulled out my stipple brushes and added some garden green and brushed corduroy inks along the edges before adding some tumbled glass ink for the clouds and sky.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great week.

A Lovely English Garden

Second post for me today.  If you're looking for my Paper Smooches Sparks post, please scroll down one.

I'm late getting my card for this week's Teapot challenge done thanks to some continued issues with my migraines, however, I finally got one stamped.  This week's challenge was to create something British and I was totally stumped on this one.  I finally decided on an English garden so I pulled out a set being released next week by Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company called Columns and Toparies.

After stamping my images in memento black and colored with prismacolor markers, I stippled some distress ink for the sky and clouds before adding some faux brads and Michael's $1 ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day and don't forget to stop by the Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company blog next week for our monthly new release blog hop.  There is also a design team call going on right now for MFPaHC.

I Scream For Ice Cream Birthday

Hello again.  Today I am sharing a card I made for this week's Paper Smooches Sparks designer drafts challenge.

After printing off a Paper Smooches digital ice cream image three times then coloring with prismacolor markers, I cut out the images so the ice cream scoops were layered on top one another.  Then I punched out a scalloped circle using my neglected Marvy giga punch, sponged some regal rose ink around the edges before adding it to the card over two panels of digital paper.  Then I sponged regal rose around the entire card before stamping my saying from the sentiment sampler in memento black.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Stamps: PS Sentiment Sampler, Digital Ice Cream Cone
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin Up! Regal Rose
Card Stock: White, Stampin Up! Regal Rose, Digital Designer Paper Scraps

Sitting By The Dock

Second post for me today.  If you're looking for my Sassy Studio Post, please scroll down one.

I recently found a new challenge blog called Digital Tuesday Challenges and have been wanting to give some of their challenges a try, however, my migraine issues have gotten in the way.  Yesterday however, I was finally able to participate in the boys challenge by using an image from Digital Two for Tuesday I had printed out a few weeks ago.

After coloring it with prismacolor pencils and a blender marker, I layered the image onto Stampin Up! navy card stock before stippling distress inks to finish filling in the sky and dock then adding some faux brads.  My designer paper is from a pack I had bought at Costco several years ago and have kept in my stash to use at a later date.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.
