Fake Plants

If you are looking for my Testicles and Tires post, please scroll down one posting. Thank you.

Second post for me today.  Now since I couldn't sleep the night before due to pain again, I decided to try and get my mind focused on something else besides all the pain and try to make a card for the Stella Says Sketch #508 challenge.  So I pulled Grumpy Gertrude and her fake plants image from Bugaboo Digital Stamps and got to work.

After coloring the image using prismacolor and copic markers, I stippled some tumbled glass & brushed corduroy distress inks around the image then layered. Now I had to take a bit of creative license here since the sketch had layered circles and my image was printed a tad too large for my circle punches to fit on the card.  So I decided to make a "squaricle" (a square circle) using my corner rounder punch instead.  For the background I stamped the oak leaf from SU Lovely As A Tree.  I added a distressed die cut daisy in one corner and the saying in another corner.  I'm happy with how this card turn out considering the amount of pain I was in.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great weekend!

Testicles or Tires

Have I said how much I just love Bugaboo Digital Stamps??  If so, then I'm saying it again - I LOVE them!!  My card today is a CASE(Copy And Share Everything) of a card I made a while back during the 30 day marker challenge.  Right now it's totally perfect since my car engine has decided to take a vacation - without asking permission I might add.  Grrrrr.....  It's also my submission for the Twisted Thursday Anything Goes challenge this week over at the Outlawz.

So, after printing off my Stella Tidbits digi, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers before stippling tumbled glass distress ink around it, then layering and distressing the layered panels.  Since this is a "guy" inspired card, I added some Phillips and Flat Head screws.  Being me, I just had to add some mini primas with platinum ice stickle centers to finish everything off.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day and I hope my card gave you a bit of a giggle.

Friendship

If looking for my April Showers post, please scroll down one.  Thank you.

Second post for me today.  I'm on a roll here!  I have another card I would like to share using some very old Stampin Up! stamps I had to dust off in order to use.  I needed a simple card that would be easy to mail and not cause any "issues" with the postal service.

After dusting off my chosen stamps, I started out by stamping the card using the Aida Cloth background in wisteria ink onto some lavender card stock before over stamping a "stitched flower" from Sampler Sayings in lavender ink. I then took a scrap piece of lavender card stock, stamped the same Aida Cloth background only this time in the lavender ink for softer feel before over stamping my saying from Sampler Sayings in memento black, then layered and added some mini brads.  I then " faux stitched" around the edges of the layered saying allowing the brads to be mini "knots" for the corners.  I then made a border strip by stamping and sponging an apricot scrap before adding to my card using glue dots to make sure it was not going to add any extra "dimension" for the postal service.  The only other embellishment I allowed myself were two mini felt flowers with mini brads adhered using glue dots.  The flowers and brads will still fit into an envelope easily since I always mail with a white card stock front anyways to protect any coloring I have done from weather.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Pammies Inky  Pinkies - Anything Goes Monday

Cards In Envy -  Pretty Pastels

Outlawz Monday Greetings - GCC042417 Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

April Showers

April showers bring May flowers.... How many times have you heard that phrase over the years?  Well today I'd like to share a card I made inspired by that phrase.

I started off by printing off the April digi from SimplyBStamps and then coloring it using both my prismacolor and copic markers.  Once my coloring was complete, I stippled some Tim Holtz tumbled glass and broken china distress inks around the image before layering.  I also stamped my card and all layers using an old wood mounted Posh Impressions rain stamp I've had in my stash for years before sponging the matching dye inks around each stamped layer.  Finally, I added some yellow flower brads from my stash along with some yellow & orange silk flowers.  To finish off the card, I added blue waterfall ice stickles to all the colored rain drops in the digital image before adding some additional ice stickle "rain drops" for added effect.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Warm Hugs

Hello and welcome.  I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  Today I am sharing a card I made for the Twisted Thursday Look Alike challenge over at the Outlawz.

After printing off both my designer paper and image, I colored the image using both prismacolor and copic markers.  Once the image was colored, I then sponged some Stampin Up! brocade blue ink around the edges of the image before layering and adding brads.  Once that was done, I then added "snowflakes" by taking my lightest copic blue markers and adding dots around the bears and on the snow.  After sponging brocade blue ink around the card itself and then stamping a brocade blue border, I added two glittered silk flowers as the only embellishment.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Eggcited Chicken

Hello and welcome.  Today I am sharing another card I made for the Festive Friday challenge over at the Outlawz.  I chose Easter eggs for my inspiration and pulled out my retired Stampin Up! Best Of Cluck set, which I have never used, some scrap card stock, a pink tag from my stash, and a large jumbo eyelet and pink twine.  After stamping the main image and coloring with colored pencils, I then stamped the background images before sponging pink passion ink around the edges of the card, adding the eyelet and twine, and finally bling along with mini page pebbles.  This card took a total of 10 minutes to make and was so easy.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

The Wonderful IRS

Hello and welcome.  Don't you just love paying taxes?  Right!  Neither do I.  Today I have a cute and snarky card featuring a darling digital image from Bugaboo Digital Stamps again.  Have I said how much I love their Stella images?  Well here's another one for you to enjoy!

After downloading the image and combining the saying to the image in MS Word, I colored it using both prismacolor and copic markers.  Once the image was colored, I sponged  some Tim Holtz tumbled glass and aged mahogany distress inks over and around it before layering and adding some white brads.  I then added a die cute blue border using a MFT  scalloped die.  I finally sponged some rose red die ink around the edges of the card to distress it a little as a final detail..

I'm entering this card in the Pammies Inky Pinkies Challenge 1716 for this week's challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Welcome Christmas Into Your Heart

You read it correctly.  Christmas in April.  Today I officially got started on my Christmas cards for this year since my migraines tend to give me issues a lot, why not.

My card today is inspired by this weeks Festive Friday challenge over at the Outlawz.  The theme for this week is: Easter Eggs, Christmas Lights, Rabbits, or Easter Holiday.  I totally flew with the Christmas lights theme and pulled out a couple of Stampin Up! sets that I hadn't used before (Pick A Petal and Heard From The Heart) along with a retired MFP Stamp Shop set (Joyous Season).

For my lights, I took four different petal stamps and using various Versamagic chalk inks, stamped them at different angels to create my "lights" before hand drawing the "wire" holding the lights together. Then I stippled some garden green dye ink around the edges of the card before stamping the saying in memento black in the bottom left corner.  Once that was done, I stamped the pine boughs in memento northern pine ink along the top edge then added silver bows at the end of each "light" for a touch of elegance.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day and a great Easter weekend.

Got A Bug?

Hi there!  Don't you just hate it when you can't sleep at night?  Well last night I had one of those nights thanks to another migraine.  However instead of letting it get to me and crying about it, I decided to try coloring to focus on something else besides pain.  Good  thing too since what I colored just happened to match a new challenge blog I found: Pammies Inky Pinkies.

I took the retired image I had colored from Bugaboo Digital Stamps, stippled some Tim Holtz broken china distress ink around the edges before layering onto bright card stock  and designer paper scraps, then added some Stampin Up! real red brads to hold the whole panel together.  For my card, I stamped out a background using a long retired Stampin Up! Bug Builders set before sponging some green galore ink around the edges of the card, added gross grain ribbon, my image panel, and then my own saying using some Jolee Scrabble stickers before adding a question mark with a black zig pen.

I'm really happy with how this whole card turned out considering the lack of sleep and the migraine on top of it.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

You're Out Of This World!

Hello again.  Today I would like to share a card I made to send to a young man that's fighting a brain tumor using the Out Of This World stamp set from Lizzie Anne Designs (which is unfortunately no longer in business).  This is a really cute set for boys.

After stamping my images onto the main panel and coloring with prismacolor and copic markers, I also stamped the astronaut onto scrap white card stock before coloring and cutting out so I could pop up for dimension.  Just before layering, I stippled some Tim Holtz chipped sapphire ink and Stampin Up! basic grey dye ink to create the outer space feel.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Pasture Birthday

Hello everyone!!!  Long time no hear from me....right?  Between my own health issues, hubby's health issues, 2 deaths in the family and moving, 2016 has totally stunk!  I'm sooooo hoping 2017 is different.

With that wish, I now have MY OWN stamp room thanks to the forced move we had so I now have space to create, make a mess and not have to immediately clean it up. :)  I'm trying to get back into coloring and stamping to help me out both physically and mentally.  The first card of 2017 posted is for a challenge at the Outlawz Twisted Thursday "Down On The Farm" challenge.

For this card I pulled out a  LONG retired Stampin Up! background (Chicken Wire) and set (Udderly Moovelous) and got to work.  After stamping the background and stippling along the card and layer edges in matching ink, I stamped the sheep and saying in memento tuxedo black and colored using Copic markers before adding brads, silk flowers and a yellow button.  Easy peasy!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.
