Cool Breezes

Hello and welcome to Thursday!  The week is almost over and thank goodness for that since I've had an awful one with my migraines.  Since I couldn't sleep thanks to said migraines, and the meds were not working again, I decided to stamp and give you a sneak peek at a couple of new sets being released by Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company next week called Silly Shells and Island Life.

I decided to use the color scheme from this week's Color Throwdown, however, I was missing a couple of the colors so I had to improvise.  After stamping my main image from the soon to be released Island Life in memento tuxedo black ink onto MFP snow storm smooth card stock (no vanilla card stock), I pulled out my prismacolor watercolor pencils and a blender pen and got to work water coloring the image.  For some reason, I just see this beach scene water colored instead of using markers since it reminds me of a painting.  Once my water coloring was finished, I pulled out my Scenic Selections set to add some seagulls and then the saying from Island Life, stippled bashful blue ink around the edges for the sky and a bit of so saffron to age the entire image a bit; plus make up for not being able to use the vanilla card stock and began layering.

After my layering was finished, I pulled out the soon to be released Silly Shells and stamped my background in sahara sand before sponging the same ink around the edges of the card.  I decided the only embellishments would be some bakers twine and a lighthouse charm since I was making this card for my husband's upcoming birthday in a couple of weeks.
