I have to say I absolutely love this set!!! That being said, I have two cards to share with you today.
The first one incorporates one of my favorite images - lighthouses! I also knew this image just had to be watercolored too. So, I stamped my main image from Island Life in memento tuxedo black ink onto snow storm smooth card stock and pulled out my prismacolor watercolor pencils with blender marker to color. Once all of the watercoloring was finished, I pulled out my stipple brushes and lightly stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink around the top edges of the main image for the sky and then Adirondack lettuce ink for the grassy area before layering. Once all of my layering was finished, I stamped my background using the new Silly Shells set stamped in Adirondack aqua ink. My final touches were some birds and grass from Scenic Selections, grossgrain ribbon, and some Making Memories brads.
My second card is also watercolored using the prismacolor watercolor pencils and blender marker, only using the second image in the Island Life set - the docked island boat. Once my coloring was finished, I again stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink for the sky, layered and added some gold mini brads before stamping my card using Silly Shells stamped in Adirondack sailboat ink before adding gold cording at the top with a brass palm tree charm and birds from Scenic Selections.
I'm also submitting both of these cards into this months Craft A Scene beach challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today. Don't forget to stop by the rest of the design team blogs and leave some love for a chance to win today's featured set. Have a great day.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous coloring of both scenes, Bonnie.
ReplyDeleteLike the nautical feel of these cards. Wonderful scenes & coloring. You've used the Tim Holtz items wonderfully. I like all things Lighthouse. Just entered the Summer challenge again since I so want to win the Lighthouse stamp set being offered to challenge winner. Have visited several Lighthouses. One time when visiting the Lighthouse on TyBee Island off the coast of Savannah, GA the power went out while we were walking up the steps of the lighthouse. They did not charge us admission since they had no power to run our credit card thru and considered the no power a free day.
