Hello again and welcome. This week's Do You Stack Up challenge is all about the sea - specifically under the sea. The whole time I was stamping my card, I had the silly song from Disney's© The Little Mermaid movie going through my head - Under The Sea. Not what I needed while battling a persistent migraine, but thankfully the meds were working enough for me to stamp and occupy myself for a bit.
For my card, I chose to use some long retired sets from MFP called Flourished Sea Creatures and Fish You Were Here since I felt they fit the theme so well. I started out by stamping my seabed and background images in various memento inks onto MFP snow storm smooth card stock and then the turtle, larger gold fish, and blue fish onto scrap card stock in memento tuxedo black ink so I could color them with prismacolor markers, cut out, and pop up later.
Once my coloring was finished, I lightly stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink and Stampin Up! bermuda bay ink over and around the stamped seabed images before layering my main image panel and adding some bashful blue brads. Finally I was ready to cut out and pop up my sea turtle and larger "gold fish". Once I had those added, it was time to add some pearls as water bubbles and googlie eyes to the seahorse and fish. Here's a close up of the dimension of the card.
Since I ended up with an extra fish, I decided to decorate the inside of the card as well this time, so after stamping my saying and adding some sea ferns, I added the additional fish and then some royal blue satin ribbon. Here's the finished inside.
Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great day.
