Continuing again on the quick, easy and inexpensive Christmas/hostess/birthday gift ideas, I have two more to share showcasing today's featured set.

Now I love shopping in the store dollar sections, or just a plain dollar store to find a lot of my ideas.  So my first project today is a quick and easy gift using some of the coffee bricks you can find each year during the holiday in the Target $1 spot along with some matching candy.

I started out by stamping two coordinating layers of card stock with Just A Note using Tim Holtz pine needles and fired brick distress inks.  Then, taking a scrap piece of snow storm, I stamped various Christmas Selections images in memento black before coloring with koh-i-noor pencils and a blender marker.  Once my coloring was finished, I stamped the saying from All Is Calm then stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink around the edges.  Here's a close up of the finished gift bag topper.

Then taking a glassine gift bag, I added some pre-shredded paper to the bottom before adding two Ghiradelli© Chocolate Peppermint caffe bricks, some Ghiradelli© Peppermint Bark bars tied up with green/gold bows, and then some Hugs© Candy Cane kisses before stapling the bag top shut and then adding my gift bag topper using staples to make sure it stays shut.  This gift only takes about 10-20minutes to make depending on how detailed, and how much stuff you want to add inside the bag.

My second project uses an acrylic photo frame I picked up at Michael's in the photo section (again dollar stores work just fine) took out the paper insert and traced onto snow storm card stock the size of the insert before trimming it down 1/4inch.  Then I inked up Just A Note in memento black, stamped it on the trimmed down card stock, and layered onto masonary red card stock.  Then taking the birdhouse from Tweet That, I stamped the birdhouse in memento black onto snow storm, colored with prismacolor markers before stippling with tumbled glass distress ink then layering and re-inserting into the frame.  Turning the frame on it's "back", I added a small set of post it notes for messages and  - PRESTO! My own handmade notepad to keep by a phone.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day and don't forget to stop by the rest of the design team blogs to leave some love for a chance to win today's featured set.

Today we are featuring Mountain Selections by Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company.  For anyone who loves scenic stamping, this set is another wonderful addition to your stamp collection.

I started out by stamping my scene, and extra images, in memento black onto MFP snow storm smooth and then coloring with koh-i-noor pencils with a blender marker.  Once my coloring was finished, I stippled Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink for the clouds and then forest moss for the grass before layering and adding brads.

Then I stamped my card using the Greetings of the Season mini stamped in Tim Holtz pine needles directly onto the card before adding my layered scene popped up on dimensionals.  Then I added the cut out images popped up on micro pop dots before stamping the saying from Amaryllis Definition in memento black.

Tis the season for the need of last minute Christmas gifts, stocking stuffers, hostess gifts for all of those holiday parties, and the birthday gift forgotten in all of the holiday rush.  Today I am going to help with some ideas using today's featured set that do not take a whole lot of time to make and are inexpensive, yet personal, as well.

My first project uses a picture keychain I picked up at Michael's (dollar store works too), removed the paper insert and traced an outline of the keychains size.  Then takin the smaller flower pot from Amaryllis Definition I stamped it in memento black onto snow storm card stock before coloring with prismacolor markers.  Once my coloring was finished, I cut out the colored piece, stamped my saying onto it, and then stippled Tim Holtz spiced marmalade and fired brick distress inks around the edges before reinserting into the keychain.  Presto!!  My keychain was finished in 10 minutes.

My second project uses a small gold antique frame picked up at Michael's in their clearance section.  I stamped the larger flower pot in memento black onto snow storm and then colored with prismacolor markers before stippling Tim Holtz tea distress ink over the image.  Then taking the background from Cracked Hello, I inked it using Tim Holtz brushed corduroy distress ink before lightly stippling off some of the ink and then stamping over my colored image for an aged look.  After stamping my saying, my frame was ready to be assembled.  This whole project took only 20minutes start to finish and could be easily duplicated to use as extra gifts.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day and don't forget to stop by the rest of the design team blogs to leave some love for a chance to win today's featured set.

My project today features Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company's new set called Big City and a last minute Christmas gift.  Since we all need something to write on when taking a message while talking on the phone, I took a blank message cube, and stamped the skyscrapers in memento tuxedo black all the way around it before tying a ribbon in a knot to hold it together.

Now for the card, I made my own background by stamping the text repeatedly in memento black onto white card stock before layering onto a black card.  Then I took the same skyscrapers and stamped those in memento black, colored with a deco yellow prismacolor marker before stippling grey clouds over my skyline.  Once that was done, I stamped the birds from Scenic Selections and the "welcome" saying from Big City before layering and adding silver brads.  The only other embellishment I added was some black/white sheer organdy ribbon tied into a knot at the top.

Here's a close up of the set together.

Joy Ornaments

Hello and welcome to Monday.  Today I am sharing a card I made with a new set being released by Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company called Winter Scenes.

After stamping my image in memento tuxedo black onto MFP snow storm, I colored it with koh-i-noor pencils and a blender marker before cutting out to add later.  Then I die cut two ornaments using Tim Holtz carved ornaments before stamping my own background using the snowflakes from the set then stippling the same ink around the edges.  Once I was done stippling, I added the cut out colored image before adding ice stickles and some Martha Stewart bows.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Thankful For You

Second post for me today.  If you're looking for my Thomas Kincade post, please scroll down one.

This week is Thanksgiving here in the States, so I decided to make a quick and easy Thanksgiving card to show another type of clean and simple that's easy to duplicate.

I started out by stamping my image from one of  Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company's mini sets called Count Your Blessings in memento tuxedo black onto snow storm smooth card stock before coloring with koh-i-noor pencils and a blender marker.  Once my coloring was finished, I lightly stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass and forest moss distress inks around the sides of the image before layering and adding some pumpkin brads.  Then I stamped the leaf from Oh Happy Day in pumpkin pie ink directly onto the card before adding my layered image and saying.  The only other embellishment added was some fall colored Michael's bridal confetti flowers from my stash with bling stickers.

Challenges entered:

Card Makin Mamas - Thanksgiving Challenge
CCEE1246 - Fall or Thanksgiving
Party Time Tuesday #94 - Thanksgiving
Paper Playtime Challenge #89 - Anything Goes
Pause Dream Enjoy #46 - Thank You

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Graceland At Christmas

Hello again.  I stamped this card for the Cornish Heritage Farms Thomas Kincade challenge over a week ago, but have been unable to upload due to my migraines.  I just LOVE my Thomas Kincade stamps!!

For this image, I decided to go with a clean and simple (CAS), monochromatic look.  After stamping the Graceland Christmas image in memento bahama blue ink, I layered it on Stampin Up! navy and pacific pointe card stock before adding three alternating layers of scalloped borders along with silver snowflakes.  The card took me a total of about 20minutes to make and would be easy to make for mass reproduction of Christmas cards.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Light The Way Fall

Hello and welcome to the weekend.  Today I am sharing another card I submitted to RubberStampMadness magazine for possible publication.  Although it wasn't selected, I am still VERY happy with it and with the card they did select to publish.  You can see that one here.

This card features one of my favorite types of images lighthouses and uses Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company's sets Lighthouses, and Scenic Selections.  After stamping my images in memento tuxedo black onto MFP snow storm smooth, I pulled out my koh-i-noor pencils with blender marker and got to work coloring before cutting some of the images out to pop up later.  Once my coloring and cutting were done, I lightly stippled some clouds with Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink before layering and adding some vintage brads to a mahogany card.  After stamping my saying, cutting out, layering and adding it as well, I popped up the cut out Scenic Selections images using Recollections pop dots before highlighting the sea grass using a copic spica pen.  The only other embellishment added was diamond ice stickles to the bare tree branches and waterfall ice stickles to the ocean waves.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great weekend.

Total Peace

Hello and TGIF!!  Today I am sharing a card I had submitted to Paper Crafts World Cardmaking Day Thinking of You contest, however, I wasn't one of the lucky 4 chosen to win.  Oh well!!  My card uses Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company's newest release called On The Fly combined with Silhouette Mini Selections and Scenic Selections.

After stamping my images in memento tuxedo black onto MFP snow storm white and coloring with koh-i-noor pencils with a blender marker, I lightly stippled Tim Holtz forest moss and broken china distress inks around the edges for the sky and grass respectively before layering and adding brads.  For some extra texture, I added a mahogany dry embossed border using a Tim Holtz bark dry embossing folder on top of a dry embossed garden green card.  My final embellishment was a die cut sun with Adirondack sunshine yellow ink sponged over it and popped up on dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Caught On The Fly Anniversary

Hello and happy Thursday!!!  Today I am sharing a card with you I had submitted to Paper Crafts as part of their World Cardmaking Day Anniversary contest.  Unfortunately, I wasn't one of the lucky 4 chosen in this category.  As soon as I received my Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company set of On The Fly, I started formulating the idea in my head.

After stamping my images in memento tuxedo black onto MFP snow storm white then colored with koh-i-noor pencils with a blender marker before cutting out and setting aside.  I then took some deepest mahogany card stock and cut it using Tim Holtz Baroque Sizzix die before embossing it using Tim Holtz bark dry embossing folder.  Before layering everything completely, I dry embossed a garden green layer using a cuttlebug forest branches embossing folder.  After layering and adding brads, I added my cut out images, popped up the saying on pop dots, and added a small googlie eye to the fish using Ranger Glossy Accents before stamping my anniversary greeting from Celebrate Big.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

50 Shades of Sassy Gray

Second post for me today.  If you're looking for my CHF challenge post, please scroll down one.

I decided to play along this week with the Sassy Studio Designs 50 Shades of Sassy challenge even though I've never read the 50 Shades of Gray book.  Seemed easy enough, create a card using the freebie image and gray, black or white colors.  Simple, right?

After downloading and coloring my image with prismacolor markers, I lightly stippled Stampin Up! going gray ink around the edges before layering and adding some gray pewter colored brads on top of a dry embossed Tim Holtz retro circles layer.  After adding some gray primas with black pearl sticker centers, my card was finished.  Simple!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Saturday Evening Post Fall Cover

Hello and welcome.  First, I would like to apologize for the not posting for so long.  Unfortunately, between my migraines again, plus the flu, I've been down for the last couple of weeks.  I'm finally feeling well enough to try my hand at stamping again so I decided to jump in at the last minute with the Cornish Heritage Farms fall challenge.

Pulling out one of my retired Saturday Evening Post stamps, I stamped it in memento tuxedo black ink onto snow storm white card stock before coloring with prismacolor markers blending as needed.  Once I was satisfied with the coloring, I lightly stippled Tim Holtz wild honey, vintage photo, brushed corduroy, spiced marmalade, and dusty concord distress inks around and over the image.  After layering, and adding some pumpkin brads, I added some silk glitter leaves to finish framing my colored image.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.
