Woodblock Wednesday November 2024 Edition

Hello and welcome to another  Woodblock Wednesday edition where we dust off all of those wood block stamps and show them some love again.  I chose to use a stamp I recently won in a giveaway Amy Tsuruta recently had.  I love anything that looks like stained glass so this stamp is perfect for me.

I started out by stamping the image in memento tuxedo black onto Copic X-Press It card stock before coloring using Copic markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I lightly blended stormy sky distress ink around the edges using a blending brush before layering and adding brads.  Taking my layered image panel, I adhered it to a black card using glue dots before die cutting my saying using a Spellbinders Celebrate Everything hello/bubble die I received as a RAK.  After adding some Meraki Sparkle Midnight Shimmer bling, and painting crystal ice stickles on my tulips, my card was finished.  Here's another look:

PIP Challenge 2446

 Sponsored by StarStampz

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we're being sponsored by StarStampz. For my card, I am using the Polar Bear digital image.

I started out by printing the image onto Neenah white card stock before pulling out my Castle Arts watercolor pencils, colored the image before blending with an alcohol marker.  After edging the image in memento tuxedo black ink, I layered it before adding white brads and distressing the edges then setting aside.  My card is dry embossed using a Sizzix© snowflake embossing folder with Stampin Up bliss blue ink rubbed lightly over the embossed images and sides.  Taking some snowflake felt fusion I've had for years, I added a border of individual snowflakes before adding my layered image using pop up glue dots.  The final embellishments were white/silver bakers twine, snowflake sequins, silver star stickers and ice stickles glitter glue.  As an afterthought, I added just a touch of white gel pen to the little girl's eyes.

A Little Stained Glass Winter

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a couple of cards made using Conjurer of Dreams Winter Stained Glass Windows images along with several others.  First, let me just say, I absolutely LOVE Kim's stained glass images!!  For both of these cards, I merged the stained glass with the following: Polar Bears AI Art Digitals, Frosty Quirky Elves, Christmas Gnomes and Christmas Ducks.

I started out by printing a non-merged Winter Stained Glass images twice to use as designer paper before printing the merged church/gnomes/ducks image at 3.5 x 5.  After layering, and adding brads, I adhered it to my card using glue dots before adding crystal stickles to highlight the snow/church windows/frozen creek.

Next is a card using a different stained glass church image.  This time I combined it with the Polar Bears AI Art and Frosty before printing it also at 3.5 x 5 then layered and added silver brads before adhering it to the card using glue dots.  After adding some silver cord, I again highlighted the snow/windows/frozen creek using crystal stickles.  I am really happy with how both of these turned out.

Feeling All Festive

Hello and welcome.  Second post today.  I'd like to share with you a Christmas card made using the Conjurer of Dreams Ugly Sweater Grumpy Seniors digital set.  The image, and matching saying, just reminds me so much of my dad because this was just how he was.  He would put those ugly sweaters on and have fun.  I hear his voice every time I look at the saying since it was the way he'd talk. Oh do I miss him!

After combining the image, and saying, in Photoshop©, I printed it on to Neenah white card stock before layering and adding brads.  I then adhered the layered panel to my card using glue dots before adding crystal stickles as the only embellishment.  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out although I'm not sure I'm going to leave it as a card or turn it into a journal page.

What's The Word Bird?

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a card I made for my sister-in-law's birthday using an image from Conjurer of Dreams

After combining one of the Old Bird images, with my own saying in Photoshop©, I lightly stippled Tim Holtz tattered rose distress ink around the image to soften the white space a bit before layering and adding brads.  Once the image panel was finished, I added it to a dry embossed card using glue dots.  Taking my blending brush, I lightly stippled more tattered rose around the edges and over the embossed images...  After adding some color spritzed from an old Stampin Up marker, I added some Crafty Meraki Midnight Illusion bling to finish it off.

Dancing Penguins

Hello and welcome.  Second post today.  I'd like to share a card made using a digital image from Whimsy Stamps that I've had printed for some time, I just haven't used it before now.  The image is called Penguin Dance Line and was a freebie from Whimsy back in 2022.

After adding the saying using Photoshop©, I printed the image onto Neenah white card stock before coloring using Copic markers. Once my coloring was finished, I stenciled the cloud background using a slimline cloud stencil (now retired) from Picket Fence Studios before layering and adding some black brads.  Taking a Cuttlebug© snowflake embossing folder, and my Big Shot©, I dry embossed a black card before adding my layered image panel using glue dots.  I then added crystal stickles and some star dust stickles to the snowflake centers to finish my card off.  I'm really happy with how this turned out.

One Cup At A Time

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card made using one of the stamps I purchased from Unity Stamp Co during one of their sales. These last few months have been really rough.  Between losing my mom, getting COVID again, bronchitis and a host of other issues, this Coffee is Not Enough perfectly sums everything up.

I started out by stamping everything in memento tuxedo black ink onto Copic X-Press It card stock using my MISTI© before coloring her up using Copic© markers. Once the coloring was finished, I lightly blended some Tim Holtz milled lavender distress ink around her to help lighten the white spaces before layering and adding brads.  As an afterthought, I ran a paper distresser along the edges of the bottom layer before adhering the image panel to a lavender card.  The only embellishments added were some purple sequins, silk flowers, lavender bling and a touch of white gel pen to her eyes. I'm pretty happy with how the card turned out especially with how I've been feeling.

A Polar Christmas

Hello and welcome.  I have a couple of Christmas cards to share I've made using images from Conjurer of Dreams as inspiration for this month's Conjurer of Dreams challenge

First up I have a steampunk version of Christmas using the Festive Steampunk Polar BearSkating Penguins and Winter Pines image sets.  I started out by combining one of the cabins from the Skating Penguins with the Winter Pines images before adding one of the steampunk polar bears.   I then found a free silhouette Santa sleigh online and added that over the moon before printing the image out twice (once for a background) onto Neenah white card stock before layering and adding brads.  Taking my paper distresser, I distressed all the layers before adhering the image panel using pop up glue dots.  After adding some white/silver bakers twine, and silver stars, I finished it off by adding crystal ice stickles.

Winter Critters

Hello and welcome.  Today is my day to post inspiration for this month's challenge over at the Conjurer of Dreams blog.  This month's theme is Winter Critters.   I had a lot of fun making these cards and I hope you enjoy them as well and since I'm still battling COVID, plus my migraines, I pretty much kept the same layout for all of my cards.

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we're being sponsored by Varada Sharma.  I would like to thank them for their sponsorship and for providing images for the design team to use.  My card today showcases Varada's Abundance of Joy digital set.

After printing out the images onto Neenah white card stock, I pulled out my Copic markers and got to coloring before lightly stippling Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink leftover from another project to soften the white around my flowers.  Once I had the image panel layered, I added some white brads and set aside.  Taking a Cuttlebug© Stylized Flowers embossing folder, and my Big Shot© I dry embossed the card base before adhering the layered image panel using glue dots.  The final touches were some sunburst glitter stickles to the flower centers and then some SSS warm tone gems.  I'm pretty happy with how this turned out since I'm still battling COVID and my migraines.

C'Mon Inner Peace

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I made for the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Hop using the Coffee Doodle-Doo set from Unity Stamps.

After stamping the image, and saying, in Memento tuxedo black on to Copic X-Press It©, I colored it using Copic markers before layering and adding brads.  Taking a coffee bean stencil from Impression Obsession, I created the background for my card using espresso ink and a blending brush.  Taking my layered image panel, I adhered it using glue dots before adding a few dots in the upper right/lower left corners using a black Castle Arts gel pen.  Inside I stamped the "caffeinate and hope for the best" saying from the set. I'm pretty happy with how this card turned out.  Although, I'm starting to finally feel a little better from COVID, I still get short of breath/cough easily and a migraine.
