Inspired by The Rose

Hello everyone.  I hope you enjoyed the weekend.  Despite another migraine, I was able to get this card made for the Moxie Fab World Trigger Tuesday challenge and Splitcoaststampers HYCCT1212 Spread The News Inspiration challenge - be inspired by a movie or a song from a movie.  For my card I chose Bette Midler's 1979 movie and song entitled "The Rose" and let the Tuesday Trigger photo inspire my color choices.

After finding the lyrics to the "The Rose" online, then copying and pasting into MS Word and arranging onto an entire sheet of card stock to use as designer paper, I stamped my images from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company set Love Remains in memento tuxedo black onto MFP snow storm and colored with prismacolor markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I cut one of the roses out, stippled Tim Holtz broken china and milled lavender inks around the edges of the main image before layering and adding some faux brads.

After adding the lyrics layer to my lavender card, I added the cut out rose to the image panel, then adhered the entire panel to the upper left corner of the card.  My saying was stamped in memento black onto scrap snow storm and also layered onto scraps before being placed in the lower right hand corner of the card.  The only embellishments added were some fruit punch and yellow ice stickles to the roses and lavender organdy ribbon from the Michael's $1 spot.

I will be adding this card to the package I am sending to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX this month for patients and their families.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.
