Mother's Day Paws - Friends Of SpeedyTV #19

Welcome to Monday and another Friends of SpeedyTV challenge by Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company.  With Mother's Day fast approaching, we are challenging you this week to make a card appropriate for a mom in your life.  I went with a slightly different approach with my card since I know several mom's whose kids are their fur children, so why shouldn't they also receive a card from their babies.

I started out by stamping my main image twice in memento tuxedo black onto snow storm smooth card stock before coloring with prismacolor markers before cutting one image out to pop up later and then stippling the other with various Tim Holtz distress inks and layering.  Once my layering was done, I die cut a couple of ric rack borders from a Die Cuts With A View Pet Shoppe matte stack designer paper before popping up my saying and image over the borders.  I kept the embellishments pretty simple with just some paw print ribbon, brads, and primas for the outside.

On the inside of my card, I added a border of scrap Pet Shoppe designer paper before stamping my saying and another image of the puppy.  Pulling out a couple of koh-i-noor pencils, I colored the magnolia with the saying and my card is finished.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.  Make sure to participate in the challenge this week for a chance to win this week's featured set - Mother's Magnolia's.
