Today we are featuring what's soon to be one of my favorite sets called Lighthouses.  I just love lighthouses!!  My love of lighthouses started as a kid when my mom would take my brother and I to Pacific Grove with my grandpa.  Mom and I would sit on the beach and just watch the waves near the Pacific Grove lighthouse while grandpa kept my brother busy by the water.  We continued this tradition even after she was diagnosed with breast cancer.  In fact, mom's last wish was to be able to walk/sit on the beach by that same lighthouse with her two brothers (who were on opposite sides of the country at the time) and grandpa made sure that happened.  Somewhere around the house, I have that picture of her with both brothers on the beach and the Pacific Grove lighthouse standing in the background.
It  is that same lighthouse that inspired my project for today's hop. I started out by pulling out one of the frames I bought recently at the dollar store and then stamped my lighthouse twice in memento tuxedo black ink onto MFP's Snow Storm Smooth 120lb  premium paper before coloring with prismacolor markers then cutting one lighthouse out completely for popping up later.  Once my layering was done, I lightly stippled some bashful blue, summer sun, and wisteria inks around the edges of the layered panel before adding some Tim Holtz Old Paper distress ink lightly over the entire image to "age it" a bit.

Since the Pacific Grove lighthouse is near 17 mile drive (gorgeous dive if you've never been there) and the Pebble Beach Golf Course, I decided to add Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company's set called New Pines to add some dimension and give the whole framed image a "woodland" feel to it.  Here's a close up so you can see all of the dimension inside the frame.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.  Make sure to stop by all of the design teams blogs and leave some love for a chance to win today's featured set.
