Kick Back, Relax and Enjoy....

I'm finally getting a chance to upload a card I made for MFT's Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge a couple of weeks ago.  It also took a few days to make since I was on migraine meds at the time. 

Since it's the start of the football season, I thought I would go with that theme and flip the sketch on the side to have more room and go with a fall color scheme.  I used the digital Let's Hear It For The Boys for the main image since it was already printed, and then pulled out the stamp set for the popcorn & saying.  Once everything was colored.  MFT's texture die-namic texture board was used on my layers.

So, I have just one question.....ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL??!!!!

Happy Days Are Here Again!!

Now what parent doesn't sing that tune when the start of school comes around each year?   I know I did until my daughter became a freshman in high school this year; then she really became expensive. 

I finally felt well enough to do a MFT challenge AND get it done on time. This week's challenge had to do with back to school, blue, and using a Jolinne stamp.  Easy peasy.  I pulled out My Heart Sings Jolinne and stamped her on perfect panels then colored with prismacolor markers.  I'm so happy I didn't mess up the coloring since I'm out of practice. 

After layering on some MFT digital music paper and DCWV linen background paper, I was ready for the final touches: primas, 3 types of $1 ribbon, and silver baby braddies.

Migraines, Migraines and more Migraines.

You can't live with them, and I would certainly love to live without them for a while!

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted anything on the blog, however, migraines are exactly what I've been dealing with since May.  It took everything I had to make my last post in July, and since then I've been having to go into the doctor about every 2 -2 1/2 weeks for shots just to kill the pain and other issues long enough to get some sleep and attempt to feel well enough to work he next 2 1/2 weeks to get some sort of a paycheck. I haven't stamped since then either.  My doctor's are trying to get them under control and figure out what is going on as well.

Please bear with me, as posting will be sporadic.  When I'm feeling well enough to stamp, or even look at a computer, I'll post, otherwise, I'm hiding in a darkened cave.

Welcome to our surprise birthday bash for Kim, our wonderful MFT Lady herself!  She  always knows how to make a newbie feel welcome on the threads, and always gives her customers first class treatment.  All of us "junkies" have pretty much claimed Kim, Martin & the girls as part of our families as well.

June Blast From The Past!!!

Hello everyone.  Sorry it's been so long since my last post, between migraines and BOTH of my computers crashing on me, it's been a long three weeks.

For this month's Blast From The Past Blog Hop, I decided to use an oldie but goodie - Branching Out and Branching Out Coordinates.  Even while on migraine medications, using these two sets can make clean-and-simple look totally cute!

Stamped in memento tuxedo black and colored with prismacolor markers, I stippled Stampin Up! bashful blue and wild wasabi around the edges of the images to fill in the white before adding primas, brads, die cut clouds and punched grass for the final touches.

Cracked Country Rooster

Happy Thursday everyone!!!! 

Today I have a country, yet vintage-y (yes I made that up) card for you.  I thought I would ink up a set that a friend of mine rak'd me and I had a blast with it. 

Pulling out a retired Stampin Up! chicken wire background and using a color comb I'm not used to, I started out by stamping the background on so saffron cardstock then sponging the edges.  After that, I stamped my images on vanilla cardstock with memento tuxedo black in and colored with prismacolor markers, blending as needed.  Now this is where I messed up the rooster and almost threw the whole thing in the trash!  However, I decided to continue working with it and I'm glad I did because it finally turned out.  Once my main image was colored, and I was putting the background away, I just happened to stumble across another background from Rubber Stampede I had forgotten was in my stash - a cracked one.  Pulling that one out, and inking it up with Stampin Up! creamy caramel ink, I stamped in off twice before over staming the rooster & chick.  Perfect!  They look like an old piece of art.  So I decided to do the same thing to the bordering blue die cut strip.  It also came out looking great. 

The primas I was adding were a bit too bright for my liking so I sponged Stampin Up! old olive ink over them to darken them up a bit before adding them to the card for the finishing touch.  Perfect!  Clean and fairly simple.

What A Ham!!

Happy Wednesday!!!  I just had to post these pics of one of my cats Squeaky.  She is one of our rescue cats, adopted from the local shelter about 4years ago and will not get any bigger than a 9month old kitten because of being malnourished while she was a kitten before the shelter got ahold of her and nursed her back to health for adoption.

She was laying at the front door on Monday just enjoying the sun, and yes, she knew "Mommy" was taking pictures.  She is such a "ham" for the camera.

Look at this silly girl, just rolling all over the place.  She's just too cute for her own good, but our family loves her and all of her siblings.

Mother Teresa

Happy Tuesday everyone.  Today's card features a phrase that a lot of us speak frequently and probably don't realize who we are quoting. 

" I know God will not give anything I can't handle.  I just wish that He didn't trust me so much". Mother Teresa

The phrase is part of the Mother Teresa stamp set offered by Our Daily Bread Designs stamps.  For me, this phrase carries extra meaning since I've been going through so much lately besides my migraines which I won't get into here. 

For my card, I was inspired by a previous Our Daily Bread challenge on SCS making sentiments the focal point of the card.   I also decided to use a color combo I don't normally use as well.  Pulling out, and dusting off,  Stampin Up! Boho Blossoms backgrounder then stamping in turquoise and again in orange, I finally added my die cut yellow piece with the Mother Teresa saying on it.   For the final touch, sponged primas, brads, and dew drops were added.
