For my card, I decided to focus on birthday's since I never seem to have enough birthday cards around. I started out by pulling out a new set being released this week by Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company called Fabulous Dogs. I just love the big ol' boxer in this set. It's too cute! After stamping my image in memento tuxedo black twice onto MFP white storm premium paper and coloring with prismacolor markers, I pulled out my stipple brushes and got to work filling in the white spaces. First, I lightly stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink immediately around my boxer before stippling Adirondack latte ink on the edges with a "light coat" of Tim Holtz tea stain distress ink over the latte ink as well as stippling the edges of my card base.
Once the stippling and layering were finished, I pulled out some dog bone/paw brads I found at Michael's last year and added those to the corners of both my image and saying. After adding some chocolate paw ribbon to the side, and my main image slanted in the middle, I finally added the cut out boxer popped up on dimensionals. My final embellishment was to add a punched out dog paw to the inside of my card (knew that punch would come in handy someday).
Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great day and I hope you'll join us this week at Friends of SpeedyTV.
