Alter It! - WSC 1-27-10

Morning everyone. Welcome to the first week of February. Where the heck did January go? Geez!

I have a fun project to share today that is part of this week's Wednesday Stamp Club for MFT. We were to take something and alter it. I found a magnetic frame I bought on clearance at Walmart that's been in my stash for who knows how long.

I started out by stamping it in Papertrey Ink's summer sunshine ink using MFT's In The Background set. Once that was done, I set the frame aside to dry and stamped my images on MFT's cream perfect panels in memento tuxedo black ink then colored them with prismacolor markers cutting out the food so they could be attached to the outside later. Once my coloring was done, I lightly stippled Stampin Up! creamy caramel ink around my main image to give it more of a vintage feel before stamping my saying. I had cut the saying in two so it was easier to make it fit where I had wanted it to go. After adding some Stampendous Class-A-Peels to the cake, I carefully slipped the main image into the frame and began adding the food and buttons (following Jody's rule LOL ) using glue dots. For the final touch, I added a Martha Stewart gingham ribbon to the outside of the frame window.

Here's a close up inside the window. This is going on my fridge in the kitchen since my hubby likes to cook and grew up in a drive in.
