Today's featured set is just awesome, in my opinion.  Since I have two nephews currently serving in the military as well as some friends serving, this set is a great way to say thank you for their service to our country.  It's also a great way to say thanks for the families who sacrifice so much while their loved ones are deployed.

My first card uses the eagle stamp in the Be Proud set.  After stamping the image in memento black and coloring with prismacolor markers, I layered the panel alternately between card stock and some designer paper I picked up at Hobby Lobby a year ago before adding some baby star brads.  Once my saying was stamped out, layered, and added, I adhered some patriotic dew drops using micro glue dots, navy ribbon along with a flag charm attached with some thread.

My second card uses the heart stamp and different saying from the same set.  Once the images were stamped and colored, they were cut out and popped up using dimensionals over a die cut scalloped border.  I kept the embellishments fairly simple and used only the dew drops, baby star brads, and ice stickles for the stars on the heart.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day and don't forget to stop by the rest of the design team blogs  to leave some love for a chance to win today's featured set.

  8. Great cards. I really like how you colored the eagle. The scallops on your second one made me think of the scalloped banners that I have seen people use to decorate at 4th of July. Awesome job!!

  9. Bonnie,
Two pretty cards. I especially like the second card with the scalloped borders. There is a large older home in the town in which I live and they have beautiful banners across their porches (upper and lower) - it looks awesome!
