Hello and welcome. Today I'd like to share a scrapbook layout I made today. I'm still dealing with this migraine and fibromyalgia flare but I needed a distraction today. With Mother's Day coming up this weekend, here in the States, I've been missing my mother, my mom, and my mother-in-law. My mother especially. She passed away from breast cancer just one week after Mother's Day so it's always hard on me. I've been wanting to make a page for her and my grandfather, so I used the last one taken, on the beach in Carmel-By-The-Sea, the summer before we found out her breast cancer was back. She was only 41 when she passed away.
I pulled today's free mermaid image from Conjurer of Dreams blog post, and paired it with the following Conjurer of Dreams sets: Coral clip art, Beach Grass clip art, Ocean Creatures clip art, Photo Corners, Blue Silk, Black Silk and the seagulls from a special set Kim made me. The rosettes, and designer paper, is from a sample set by Raspberry Road Designs. I'm happy with how it turned out.
Challenges entered:
Never Before Used Schtuff (NBUS) #74 - Use Your NBUS (Mermaid, Raspberry Road elements)
Double D Challenge May 5, 2025 - Designer Paper (Raspberry Road)
Word Art Wednesday Wks 698 and 699 - Anything Goes Uplifting (remembrance and healing)
Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great day and please make sure you get the "girls" checked every year (men too) because men can develop breast cancer. It's just a taboo topic for some dumb reason.
Aww, what a great photo, she was beautiful! Love your layout. My mom passed the Wednesday after Mother's Day. It's always bittersweet. Hope you feel better, xoxo
ReplyDeleteWonderful layout, I'm sure your mom would be smiling. Lots of wonderful work here, thanks so much for playing along with us at Double D. I hope we see you back again soon.
