Halloween Tea Party And Haunts

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a not so spooky Halloween ATC made using the Well Read Haunts ATC backgrounds along with a few other sets from Conjurer of Dreams.

I started out by digitally layering the following Conjurer of Dreams sets:  Well Read Haunts, Alice in Wonderland Background/Clipart, Bokeh and Floral TeacupsFloral Borders and Corners clip artVictorian Maid clip art and Cute Dogs before printing and adding to the Black Silk and Aged Paper backgrounds. I liked how it turned out so I kept it clean/simple and didn't add any additional embellishments.

Barnyard Friends

Hello and welcome. Today I'd like to share with your a fun image I colored over the last month or so - little by little while dealing with this migraine, and fibromyalgia, flare.  The image is a digital from Impression Obsession which is unfortunately closed now. To color my farmyard scene, I pulled out my Lyra and Castle Arts pencils and got to work adding layer/shades until I was happy with it.  Once the coloring was finished, I layered it and added some vintage brads. As an afterthought, I also went and distressed the bottom layer using my paper distresser.  For my card base, I dry embossed a green panel using my Cuttlebug Branches embossing folder and big shot.  After adding my layered image panel using glue dots, I tied part of a jute ribbon around one side of the card.  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

PIP Challenge 2520

 Our Sponsor is

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we're being sponsored by Pattie's Creations.  I would like to thank Pattie for her sponsorship of this week's challenge.  My card this week uses Pattie's image Kitty On Books and is colored using Ohuhu markers.

Once the coloring was complete, I lightly stippled tumbled glass distress ink around the main image before layering and adding some red brads.  For my card, I dry embossed a red card using my Cuttlebug paisley embossing folder and Big Shot before lightly stippling some fired brick distress ink over the embossed images.  After adding my layered image panel, I stamped the saying from a long retired Close To My Heart set, layered and also added brads.  As an afterthought, I distressed the edges of the saying layers before popping it up using some pop dots.  I then went back and ran my fingernail along the edges of the main image layers to distress those.  The final touches were some red organdy ribbon from my stash and bling.

I Said So That's Why

Hello and welcome.  Raise your hand if your mother ever said this to you......🙋🙋 Now raise your hand if you've ever said this to your own children (fur children included). 🙋🙋 So when I saw this My Mother Taught Me set from Conjurer of Dreams, I had to get it.

I did all of the layering digitally, so when I printed it out (minus watermark), it would make technically a one-layer card; especially with the price of postage now.  I started out by combining the My Mother Taught Me mom with the Bokeh and Floral Teacups background before layering onto the Purple and Pink Silk backgrounds.  I finished it off by adding the gold Photo Corners, plus elements from the Cool Cats and Cute Dogs sets.  I'm sending this card to a friend for Mother's Day.

Challenges entered:

Never Before Used Schtuff (NBUS) #74 - Use Your NBUS (bokeh background, my mother taught me sets)
Little Red Wagon #806 - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (use some yellow - bokeh, photo corners, mom's hair)

Gone But Not Forgotten

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a scrapbook layout I made today.  I'm still dealing with this migraine and fibromyalgia flare but I needed a distraction today.  With Mother's Day coming up this weekend, here in the States, I've been missing my mother, my mom, and my mother-in-law.  My mother especially.  She passed away from breast cancer just one week after Mother's Day so it's always hard on me.  I've been wanting to make a page for her and my grandfather, so I used the last one taken, on the beach in Carmel-By-The-Sea, the summer before we found out her breast cancer was back.  She was only 41 when she passed away.

I pulled today's free mermaid image from  Conjurer of Dreams blog post, and paired it with the following Conjurer of Dreams sets: Coral clip art, Beach Grass clip art, Ocean Creatures clip art, Photo Corners, Blue Silk, Black Silk and the seagulls from a special set Kim made me.  The rosettes, and designer paper, is from a sample set by Raspberry Road Designs.  I'm happy with how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day and please make sure you get the "girls" checked every year (men too) because men can develop breast cancer.  It's just a taboo topic for some dumb reason.

Garden Gnomes

Hello and welcome.  Short post today as I've been dealing with a nasty migraine and a fibromyalgia flare since the weekend, to the point of crying, but that would have hurt worse.  So I forced myself to do something creative just to keep my sanity and used some images from Conjurer of Dreams along with this week's progressive freebie.  After adding the gnomes from a special set Kim made me, I added the butterflies, dragonflies and saying digitally so all of my layers would already be there for a one layer mailing since postage continues to go up like everything else. I'm really happy with how it turned out.  You can find out more about the COD progressive challenge in the Inspiration Group.

Be A Mermaid

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you an ATC I made using the mermaid freebie over on the Conjurer of Dreams blog for the May free image challenge.  I did all of my layering digitally, little by little, so when I printed it out, I was able to add to card stock for the layer.  The COD sets, besides the freebie, I used are: Coral Clip Art, Mermaid Scales, Ocean Creatures Clip Art, Blue Silk, and Black Silk.  I'm really pretty happy with this since I created it while still dealing with this migraine.

PIP Challenge 2518

 Sponsored by

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we're being sponsored by Sunbird Spark.  I would like to thank them for their sponsorship of this week's challenge.  My card this week uses their My Favorite Chapter digital stamp set.

After combining the digital images, I typed the Dr Seuss saying myself before printing the image then colored it using my new Ohuhu Direct markers.  Once the coloring was complete, I lightly blended some tumbled glass distress ink around the colored image before layering and adding some faux brads and adhering the image panel to my card.  I then added some white/silver bakers twine, sequins and a googlie eye to finish the card off.  I'm really happy with how this turned out since I'm dealing with another migraine.

Stained Glass Mermaids

Hello and welcome.  I'm guest designing this month over at Heart's Quest Fantasy Challenge blog.  I would like to take a moment to thank Becca for the invitation to guest design.  For my card, I went with the optional focus of mermaids using images from Conjurer of Dreams

After combining the Stained Glass Sunken Ship with the Quirky Mermaids and a Sea Siren freebie from last year that was posted in the COD Inspiration group.  Once I had everything combined, I printed the finished image twice so one could be a mat layer.  After layering my card elements, I added some old photo corners I found in my stash (remember when we used to use those), some copper cord, copper bling and ice stickles to highlight the waves.  I'm happy with how this turned out especially since I've been dealing with another migraine.
